You may have been told, “You need to get your name out there if you want to attract business! So start a blog! Tweet! Do speeches! Write articles!” But you may be asking, “So what is all that blogging, twittering, speaking and writing supposed to be about?”
That’s what this seminar will cover. You’ll learn about:
- Why you need to pick topics with the issues faced by your ideal client (NOT you) in mind — so you can earn an opportunity to show how you can help them with the issues they’re facing
- Four themes for content that show expertise and thought leadership — newsjacking, trendspotting, case studies and how-to’s
- How to select vehicles for your content — your own blog, guest blogging, guest podcasting, articles in their media, speeches, social media such as LinkedIn — that are best for reaching your ideal clients
- How to relate these ideas to building your own practice, but also to the work you do for your clients
Carl Friesen has a graduate degree Journalism and experience as an editor and reporter, so he knows how to develop effective content that grabs others’ attention. For the past 15+ years, he has worked in professional services marketing, helping accountants, engineers, lawyers, consultants and others to build their profile through getting their ideas published — so he’s discovered what works. At the same time, he’s been building his own professional presence through blogging, public speaking and other means.
This will be a two-hour workshop, with a healthy dose of audience involvement, so that participants learn from each other. You’ll receive a workbook that will help you apply the ideas to your own work — and that of your clients. Your result will be the start of an implementation plan you can start working on the next day.
