What We Do
What is Communicators Connection?
Communicators Connection provides resources, knowledge and support to help independent communicators in the Regions of Halton and Peel and surrounding areas. We do this by:
- Promoting professional contacts between our members, businesses and other organizations.
- Fostering excellence among our members through professional development and continuous learning.
- Encouraging the sharing of ideas and resources among our members through regular meetings, workshops, e-mail and networking opportunities.
Our program year begins in September and ends in June. Events include panel discussions that explore relevant communications industry topics, and we present entertaining speakers on a regular basis. Our guest speakers know how to engage an audience as they perform and inform.
Our meetings are always informal and educational. There is nothing “stuffy” about a Communicators Connection meeting and audience interaction is always a key part of these sessions. There are also ongoing opportunities to socialize and get to know this interesting and diverse group of professionals personally.
Examples of recent meeting topics include:
- Social media
- Working with the not-for-profit sector
- Website design
- Crisis management
- Content marketing
- Media relations
The list goes on. If it is relevant to communications, it’s relevant to Communicators Connection. We are always looking for speakers and topics of interest and we count on members to provide ideas. You can’t please all of the people all of the time, but we come very close.
Can’t make it to a meeting? That’s OK; you can read all about it in our monthly e-newsletter, HomeWork. We also keep in contact all year long through an online mailing list (Communicators Connection Google group), where members can post questions, share information and compare notes.
